PPG Program organized an orientation program for its new batch (7th) students of Master in Public Policy and Governance (MPPG) on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 10.00 am at PPG Conference Room.
H.E. Ms. Sidsel Bleken, Ambassador, the royal Norwegian Embassy; and Mr. Dilli Prasad Acharya, Second Secretary, Embassy of Nepal were present as the guests of honor. Professor Gias U. Ahsan, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Designate) of NSU chaired the session.
In the MPPG 7th batch students have been admitted from Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Bangladeshi students are mainly from different cadres of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) such as BCS Admin, BCS Economic, BCS Information, BCS Taxation. Students from Nepal and Sri Lanka are from INGO and private sector respectively. It is worthy to mention here that from this batch, PPG Program has entered a Third Phase (2017-2021) namely NORPART (Norwegian Partnership) that incorporates a new element in the form of ‘students mobility’ where students from Norway will come to study at NSU (for 4 months), and NSU students will also have the opportunity to complete a semester (5 months) at UiB, Norway.
Along with the new students (MPPG 7th batch), Chief Coordinator of NORHED Project, Dr. Ishtiaq Jamil, University of Bergen, Norway; Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences; Chair, Department of Political Science and Sociology; Adviser of PPG Program, Director of PPG Program; other faculty members of PSS department; PPG staff and MPPG 6th batch students took part in the orientation ceremony.
