Public Policy and Governance (PPG) Program, under Department of Political Science and Sociology, North South University organized a day long Nation Seminar on Governance and Public Policy in Bangladesh: Contemporary Issues on 27th May,2017 at NSU Syndicate Hall.
The seminar was inaugurated in the presence of Chief Guest, Ms. Ismat Ara Sadique, Honorable Minister of State, Ministry of Public Administration, Government of Bangladesh, and Guest of Honor, Mr. Azim Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of the Board of Trustee, and Chair of the Session, Professor Atiqul Islam, Vice Chancellor of NSU.
The first Working Session was chaired by Professor Salahuddin M. Aminuzzaman, advisor Public Policy and Governance Program and Brig. Gen. (Retd.) M. Sakhawat Hussain, Former Election Commissioner was the designated discussant of the session. In this session five research papers were presented by the researchers.
The second and last working session of the seminar was chaired by Professor M. Mahboob Rahman, Dean, School of Business and Economics (SBE), NSU. The designated discussant of the seminar was Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Executive Director, TIB. Another five research papers had been presented by the researchers during the session.
The aim of the seminar was to disseminate the knowledge on Governance and Public Policy of Bangladesh Government. A total of 10 research papers were presented during the sessions. The papers of the first session focused on Clentelism, Democracy and Electoral Governance in Bangladesh. While Issues and Challenges in Society and Public Policy in Bangladesh was the topic of the second and last session.
