In Society and Public Policy researchers have attempted to discuss both traditional and new challenges that the Bangladeshi society faces in terms of formulating citizen friendly policy and its implementation. Some of the studies of this volume have noted that public policies in developing countries lack social responsiveness, they are usually symbolic, some policies are even a “matter of too little, too late”. Such policies are generally supplemented with number of programs and projects without having a sustainability plan and institutional effort.

Democracy and Governance: Contemporary Issues in Bangladesh, another research volume, is a collection of research papers on process and practices of democracy and governance of Bangladesh in the era of globalization. This research volume emphasizes both theoretical and analytical discussions and explanations of issues, challenges and dilemmas of governance, democratic practices, and policy experiences in Bangladesh.
